National Night Out is an annual community building compaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood comradarie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Sumter County Sheriff's Office National Night out is sponsored by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, 9.37 K Country, Lance Lowery's True Value There will be activites, entertainment, vendors, food and door prizes and a grand prize. There will be NO Cost to attend this event. The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is excited to host its 1st National Night Out, Tuesday Oct. 3rd 5PM-9PM

I just called Sumter County about pick up of yard debris. The county will begin next week collecting our yard debris. They ask that we please stack it in the county right of way in front of our property. The county right of way is the first 10 feet on either side of the road. Because of the equipment being used to load all this yard debris, it would be very helpful if we could avoid stacking our piles close to power poles, utility boxes, guide wires, etc that are also placed in the county right of way. This service is free of charge. The county will not be able to take anything other than yard debris. So, no metal pieces from our sheds, broken antennas, etc. I hope you find this helpful.
