Meet the Speakers:
Jonathon "JJ" Jarrell, SHRM-CP, PHR

Jonathan Jarrell, is the Corporate Director of Human Resources for Cone Distributing based in Ocala, FL. He is a Certified Speaker and Leadership Coach with the John Maxwell Company and a Certified Social & Emotional Intelligence Coach. Known by his friends as JJ he has used his influence in HR to focus on individual strengths while improving performance. In his previous role as a Regional Director of HR JJ was responsible for an employee group of over 1800 people. This has taught him a few things about Leadership! JJ is a little different, he actually believes you can change the world by the way you lead.

 Chad Sorenson is the President of Adaptive HR Solutions and has over 25 years of diverse business, communications and human resource experience.
He works with companies throughout the Southeast U.S. that range from 5 to 1,200 employees and focuses on leadership development, manager training, employee performance management and employer compliance in industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, construction trades, and professional services organizations. Chad also works with trade associations providing HR support to member companies. Prior to founding Adaptive HR Solutions in 2008, Chad was Vice President, Director and Manager of Human Resources for several companies in the Jacksonville area.
Chad serves as the 2021-2022 President of the HR Florida State Council which represents over 16,000 HR professional across Florida as the state affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management. He was also the President of SHRM Jacksonville in 2015 and 2016. He is certified as a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Chad regularly speaks to other SHRM Chapters, business associations, and companies across the region on topics such as leadership development and employee engagement.
In addition to giving back to the HR field, Chad is actively involved in his church and has been a volunteer leader with Boy Scouts for over 12 years. He is an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. The keys to his success are Devotion to God, Dedication to Family, Continuous Service, Lifetime Learning, and Always Remembering to Laugh.
                       

Dee Anna Hays is Board Certified in labor and employment law by the Florida Bar. She has been representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law compliance and litigation for over 12 years.  As a result, Dee Anna understands the legal issues as well as the practical issues confronting management. She enjoys counseling clients to solve tough issues and ardently defends them when necessary.
A growing portion of Dee Anna’s practice focuses on occupational safety and health issues.  She litigates OSHA cases and represents employers during government inspections and investigations.  Dee Anna also frequently guides employers in handling workplace fatalities and other severe accidents.
Dee Anna represents employers in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, retail, construction, technology, electrical utilities, and not-for-profit.  She advocates in federal and state courts and before numerous government agencies — including the DOL, EEOC, OSHA, NLRB, OFCCP, HHS, and FCHR.  On a regular basis, Dee Anna also handles handbook and compliance reviews on a national scale for large employers to proactively minimize liability (including privileged wage and hour and safety audits).
Dee Anna serves as the Director of Legislative Affairs for HR Tampa (SHRM) and is a past co-chair of the Labor & Employment Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association. She is a nationally recognized speaker and author on labor and employment law issues.
Dee Anna has a 4-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter. When she isn’t chasing her toddlers around Tampa Bay, she enjoys running in trail races. Her favorite distance is the half-marathon.

Anita Torres brings her passion and high energy to everything she does. She is a highly motivated and passionate Certified Executive Leadership Coach and Consultant. Her purpose and mission is to inspire leaders to communicate simply, engage teams powerfully, thrive in business, and BE leaders worth following with coaching and consulting.
Anita’s engagements are highly-interactive, filled with passion, energy, and lots of key takeaways to apply immediately at work and in life.  Don’t be surprised to see the audience up and out of their chairs networking, laughing, dancing, and engaging in experiential activities that touch the mind, heart, and soul.  Anita customizes presentations to fit all learning needs, audiences, and adds some fun to the experience.
Anita gained valuable management and corporate training experience in the financial, insurance, and business service industries.  Her specific call center background and corporate experience comes from past employers that include Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, First Data Merchant Services, Precision Response Corporation, Citibank, and MasterCard International.
Anita has presented for the Central Florida Chapter of Association for Talent Development, National Customer Service Association Summit and Conference, Lake-Sumter State College, Keiser University, Columbia University, the Reinvention Convention and Retreat, and You First Women’s Conference and Retreat.
